My name is Paul, I am 54, married and the father of 3 children, 34,25 and 24. In 1992 I was hit by a bus while riding my motor scooter. The bus came through the roundabout and drove over my scooter and threw me onto the concrete kerb(that was a bit of good luck). In 1998 at 43yrs I was operated on here in Ballarat. At the moment I am on 1800mg of Neurontin, 1000mg of Naprosyn, 400mg of Tramdol, 100mg of Endep and just to keep my stomach happy 40mg of Somac. I have Murelax to take of a night if my legs wont allow me to settle and I have Panadeine Forte as a back up. The good old Panadeine Forte and whiskey use to be my normal medication intake, my Surgeon called it alternative medicine. I don't have normal use of my bowel and bladder and that creates physical and mental problems for me. I have just gotten over a serious bladder infection because of residual urine and before that I had an inner ear infection and now I have a sinus infection, talk about not giving a guy a break
Last week I had another MRI and I am considering fusion. The Surgeon that I had has semi retired and no longer operates so I need to find someone else. For me the nights are the worst because my sub conscious takes over and I don't get good quality sleep. Some mornings I feel as if I have been hit by another bus 
I am interested in hearing people's thoughts on fusion. I know that perhaps it is not a miracle cure but surely it helps? Most of the damage was done to the lower part of my spine and this affects amongst other things my left leg, there is quite a pronounced size difference between my 2 legs. So if you could I would love to hear from people regarding their thoughts or experiences. Kind regards Paul
