Spine pain all in the hip??

Postby Delphina » Wed Jun 08, 2005 8:20 am

Has anyone ever had pain that was supposed to either spine or nerve pain,
but all of the pain is in one spot right over your right butt cheek?

My "spine" pain is not anywhere on my spine. It is off to the right. Right
above where my right butt cheek is. It's not ON the cheek. It is above it,
over the hip area.

Thanks

Has anyone looked at the Sacroiliac joint as a cause of your pain?
The sacroiliac joint is the joint between the sacrum & your pelvis, often overlooked as a cause of low back pain.
I for one. Took 6 months from time of my injury to get someone to listen to me as to where the pain was & & the other symptoms of clunking when I rolled over in bed & some other times.
It does produce pain to the side of the spine which sometimes radiates down through the buttock & the leg.
How did you injury occur?

have had back problems for over 20 years. Lumbar Lamenectomy on 10/00, Nerve Root repair on 6/02. I have Foot Drop on my R leg. Looking at a anterior fusion. Degenerative Disc Disease, Spinal Stenosis, 2 additional herniated discs, my L4-5 Vertebrae is tilted to the right about 10 degrees(that one is a mystery even to the doc...LOL!) Meds I have tried in the past: hydrocodone, tylenol #3, Oxycontin (for a week. Then when I told the doctor it helped, he said "sorry, I cannot give you anymore"), flexeril, parafon forte
3 seperate runs of ESI's and a TENS unit. Meds I am on at present: Avinza, Tylenon#3, Neurontin. I just had a facet join injection in L3/4/5-S1. I am hoping it helps.
Thanks

If the facet inj doesnt bring much joy, request an inj into the Sacroiliac joint.
I had facet inj, made no difference to my pain, but the SI j inj gave me immediate relief be it only short term but it was nice to have a week without so much pain.
Keep us posted.
Cheers Jules

I just started with the joint injections so I didn't know they could do one there. I honestly thought there was something wrong with me because I had heard all of these rave reviews about instant relief with the facet joint injections.

Thank you for telling me about that. I will definately let my pm doc know.
Hugs,
